Application Process
A University of Alberta application is not required for consideration in the Transition Year Program (TYP). TYP application packages are available to print from the Aboriginal Student Services Centre (ASSC) website or contact ASSC at 780-492-5677.
Application packages include a checklist of all required documents.
Completed applications can be submitted by May 1st (for Fall Term) or October 1 (Winter Term for Native Studies cohort) in person, fax or mail.
There is NO FEE when applying directly to TYP. Once accepted there is an application fee to the University of Alberta. This fee is only required AFTER you are accepted.
Once your application has been received you will be contacted to schedule an interview with the TYP coordinator as part of the admission process. You will be informed of your admission at that time and a course plan will be created for you based on your faculty route.
